Multiface White FDA: the certified adhesive for fast repairs
We found a way to repair white FDA-certified conveyor belts that are frequently damaged mechanically and could not be repaired using traditional methods.
The Problem
During a technical inspection at a major salt production plant, our technicians came face to face with a concrete challenge: white FDA-certified conveyor belts, mechanically damaged, could not be repaired using traditional methods. Standard repair patches require long application times — incompatible with a plant running 24/7 — are black in colour and lack food-grade certification. On top of this, there was a significant risk: metal fragments from mechanical repairs could contaminate the final product. A combination of constraints that made every machine stoppage a serious problem, both technical and hygienic.
The Solution
To meet these requirements, we developed a white, FDA-certified version of the Multiface adhesive. The customer was able to resume operations exactly one hour after the incident, using a material that matched the belt aesthetically, posed no contamination risk and was fully compliant with food safety regulations. A tailor-made solution that turned a critical plant shutdown into a fast, safe and certified repair.
Getting back up and running in one hour seemed impossible — but with the FDA-certified adhesive, our plant has never had a problem since!
